Joe joined the securities business at Dean Witter Reynolds, Beverly Hills Office on Oct 12, 1992 where he was hired by our Chairman, Carl Hulick, who was then Manager of the office. He received his CFP(R) designation and rose to Sr. VP, International Wealth Specialist. He helped develop Morgan Stanley’s international business specializing in Germany. Joe has helped French, German, and Spanish-speaking clients develop sophisticated investment strategies often utilizing foreign currencies, global bond issues, external managers, alternative investments and commodities to construct successful portfolios that have weathered turbulent times.
After a highlighted career with Morgan Stanley, he joined JP Morgan Securities in August ’09 to provide a better global platform for his clients. After a few years, Joe left the large bank model for the greater flexibility and broader opportunities for his clients in the RIA and independent Broker Dealer space. At Holly Street Wealth Joe has found that he can use his wide range of experience to his clients’ advantage.
Joe’s Renaissance background includes recording original music in his teens which was released as “vinyl” singles, played to live crowds and broadcast over the airwaves. Through college working as a stage electrician and carpenter and traveled the world with the National Ballet of Washington DC, New York City Ballet, Harkness Ballet, Metropolitan Opera, Washington Opera. Joe studied acting and directing with Lee Strasberg in New York. He was represented by William Morris, Shapiro Lichtman, others and became a member of the WGA.
In 1978 he started his own film production company were he wrote, produced and directed DON’T GO IN THE HOUSE, a feature film cult classic and box office smash which is still in world wide release. In addition, he wrote, produced and/or directed numerous other films including the feature JOEY. Joe is still active in the entertainment community; he owns over 30 copyrights for intellectual property.
Joe is committed to animal protection and supports the NRDC in its fight to save animal species and to protect the environment. He has competed in three day eventing, dressage, cross-country and jumping. Joe works with Thoroughbred and Horse Rescue. Rescues cats and dogs as well. He is also of service to the homeless of Los Angeles and helps through his clients’ Children’s Foundation. A strong supporter of the Salvation Army.
Still happily married to his wife of 40 years, Ellen is a constitutional lawyer here in Los Angeles. They have two daughters, a graduate of Wellesley who now edits and writes for a living and his younger daughter, graduate of School of the Art Institute of Chicago, who has her art exhibited at MOCA, Los Angeles, the New Museum, New York, on-line, TV, the Netherlands, Paris, etc.
